Our White Calcite cabochons are crafted through a process that uses a hydraulic press to assemble calcite nuggets together along with introducing a bronze metal matrix throughout the brick of calcite. Once the calcite is pressed or assembled, it is stabilized to harden the stone.
Calcite is found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks. The word calcite comes from the latin word calx, and the Greek word chalix, meaning “lime”. Native Americans consider this stone to be a holy stone of the land of their fathers that was bestowed upon them by the Gods.
